Rock & Roll (and a little Rain...)

Got our rockin' & rollin' done for this week! We've been slacking in the concert attendance lately but this week brought us to Nissan Pavillion twice. Sunday we saw the legendary Rod Stewart (see post below) and last night we went with good friends to see Journey, Heart and Cheap Trick. When we arrived in the parking lot we could hear Cheap Trick on stage and by the time we picked up our tickets we only got to see them perform a couple of songs.

Kurt and Deb met us at the ticket office and we made it onto the lawn where we quickly found good ground on which to set up camp

It was still daylight when Cheap Trick finished.
After a short break to let the daylight disappear it was Anne & Nancy Wilson (better known as Heart) on stage...I've gotta say Anne Wilson has not lost her ability to belt out the old Heart classics - quite a voice she has! Barracuda, Crazy On You, to name a couple...plus a Who (appropriately Rain On Me) and Zepplin tune to boot! All wonderfully done.

Finally the headliner - Journey can still tear up a stage!

No Steve Perry on vocals - but Arnel Pineda (the Philipine wonder that Journey found on YouTube):
was pretty damn close and brought the old sound of Journey to the show. Had I not known that Perry was no longer frontman I would have thought it was him up front last night. Of course he doesn't look like Steve Perry but he certainly has the voice.

We hardly noticed the light rain that came and went a few times during the evening so all in all it was a great night with good friends and good music! Looking forward to doing it again soon.

Oh...wah...oh...wah...ohwaaa!- sing it, Deb!

That's Kurt! He still looks like Kurt! I can still see him in the creek, with nets and buckets catching anything that went by!
